Primary Math & Coding (Grades 2 & 3)

Service Description

In this fun and effective 8 session summer course, students will : - Learn age/grade appropriate coding using robots - Participate in essential prep of Math skills for Grades 2 & 3 - Solve problems and create computational representations of Mathematical situations by writing and executing code, including code that involves sequential or concurrent events - Develop and enhance operational Math skills - Develop and enhance positive attitudes to Mathematics and Coding - Build relationships with their peers, and learn strategies on how to communicate their ideas effectively - Test out different approaches and learn from their mistakes as part of the learning process This course is suitable for students entering Grades 2 or 3 in Sept 2023. Learning will take place in groups consisting of up to 10 students. All courses are led by specially trained, highly skilled Ontario Certified Teachers. Make- up sessions (for missed classes) - August 29th, 4:30-5:40, 5:45-6:55 (registration required) - also available in other sessions if space is available (e.g., missed class on July 15th at 9am, can by made up on July 22nd at 10:15am if space is available- registration required)
